Warranty Information On Your AMS Conversion: Ohio

** If you think your wheelchair van from AMS needs to be serviced, please call Adaptive Mobility Systems’ Warranty department before you take your van into a mechanic. Our mobility consultants will guide you on the proper process on how to get your handicap van serviced correctly should the repairs fall under warranty.

All original warranties on minivans converted by AMS Vans are still applicable. No part of the modification process by AMS Vans, Inc. voids the manufacturer’s warranty on the van itself or the unmodified OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts. The warranty offered by AMS Vans on our handicap vans applies to the conversion itself and is separate from the vehicle warranty.

Conversion Warranty

New AMS Ramp Modification: 3 year/36,000 mile ramp warranty.

Used AMS Ramp Modification: Any remaining time/mileage on the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty on the ramp when it was originally installed.

AMS Vans, Inc. agrees to replace or repair any AMS modified ramp conversion part we find to be defective within the above stated warranty period of 3 years or 36,000 miles; whichever comes first. If it is determined that service is needed on any of the parts covered in the warranty, AMS will set up an appointment with a certified mechanic or service center within your postal code or city in Canada to repair or service the wheelchair ramp/conversion.

New AMS Floor System: 5 years/50,000 miles lowered floor warranty. Used AMS Floor System: Any remaining time/mileage on the 5 year/ 50,000 mile warranty on the floor system when it was originally installed.

AMS warrants that the structural metal fabrication that has been performed on a newly installed floor pan will not fail due to rust or corrosion for either 5 years or 50,000 miles; whichever comes first.

In addition to scheduling a service appointment near your home or business, AMS will pay for all warranty work at the time of repair. You as the customer are not required to pay for approved warranty work up front and then wait to be reimbursed. Please note that any conversion work done under warranty will only be paid for if completed by AMS or a service center shop of our choosing. Please be sure you follow the steps listed at the top of the page or call 1(888)860-2473 to ensure your warranty work is handled appropriately. You must call AMS before taking your van anywhere to be serviced.

Warranty Information

Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. Limited Conversion Warranty

AMS Vans Inc. warrants that the structural metal fabrication done on newly installed floor pan units will not fail due to rust or corrosion (see: Warranty Condition) for up to 5 years or 50,000 miles; whichever comes first from the date of initial purchase from AMS Vans, Inc. Other added or modified parts from the conversion are covered under a 3 year/ 36,000 mile warranty. AMS agrees to repair or replace any part which we find to be defective within the above stated warranty period or mileage. All work done under the warranty umbrella will only be paid for if done by AMS or a mechanic chosen by AMS.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty from AMS Vans on the minivan modification shall not apply to parts or workmanship that become defective due to using any part for a use other than what it was originally intended, neglect, improper maintenance, abuse, accident, or unauthorized repairs. The warranty is not meant to cover any part the is unmodified in the AMS conversion process, defects or problems that existed within the vehicle prior to the modification, or anything other part or issue that would be otherwise covered under the manufacturer’s warranty including: vehicle frame, engine, transmission, transaxle, restraint systems including seat belts and air bags, brakes, battery, heating systems, air conditioning systems, tires ignition systems, electronics, and computer systems. The warranty offered by AMS Vans, Inc. is not intended to replace or substitute any other warranty issued by the original manufacturer of the vehicle. AMS Vans, Inc. is not liable for any incidental or consequential damage created by a defective part or workmanship. AMS Vans, Inc. will not be liable for any expense or inconvenience incurred due to the inability to use the vehicle or any other reason without limitation. The conversion warranty is exclusive and in lieu of warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, other warranty quality, whether expressed or implied, and of all other liabilities and obligations on the part of AMS Vans, Inc.

Please note for added safety, our power ramp systems come with a manual override standard so any wheelchair users in the van can safely exit.

Warranty Condition In Canada

Vans used in heavy snow areas where salt and sand are used on the roads, we strongly suggest you have your van undercoated with a heavy Ziebart® or equivalent product and inspected annually as a condition of your conversion warranty.

Proper Procedure of a Warranty Claim

If a problem arises and you think it may be covered under your conversion warranty please follow the process below in order to ensure an accurate and fast resolution:

  1. Call the AMS Vans, Inc. warranty department at 1(888)860-2473 and provide the following information.
    • Your Name and Phone Number
    • VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
    • Mileage
    • Description of the problem
  2. Once your warranty status has been verified, a local repair facility approved by AMS Vans, Inc. will be contacted. Once the warranty work has been completed, we will pay the repair shop directly so you don’t have to pay up front then wait to be reimbursed. Should a repair shop ask you to pay for service covered under the warranty, please contact AMS Vans, Inc immediately! Again, we cannot guarantee payment on any work done unless you contact us first. We do allow individuals to work on the van or ramp themselves if they are so inclined but you must contact us prior to working on the vehicle for it to be guaranteed under the warranty guidelines.
  3. Bring the vehicle to the approved facility for service.
